A Caring and Supportive Start

Our baby room is all about forming a healthy and emotionally supportive relationship between each child and their key person. We believe in maintaining routines to promote comfort and security and allowing the children to explore their environment and the resources we provide and having fun while doing so.

Our practitioners make time to read stories, sing songs and rhymes with the children, encouraging them to join in by saying the words and copying the actions. Throughout the day practitioners will communicate with the children either in a small group or on a one-to-one basis, telling stories or role playing, and the children can share their ideas with support and modelling from the practitioner.

Growing Connections Indoors and Outdoors

Through role modelling and interaction, we support the children to start to build positive relationships with their carers and other children in their room, we help them to start to develop co-operate play. This then provides a secure starting point ready for when they move on to our toddler room at 2 years.

We understand and value the importance of being outdoors at any age. Our practitioners support children to develop their core strength, stability, balance, spatial awareness, co-ordination and agility. Gross motor skills provide the foundation for developing healthy bodies and social and emotional wellbeing. We provide a safe and secure outdoor play area for our babies, where they can watch the older children play
