Funding

The Government has extended the early years funding for eligible children. The funding is now available from 9 months up till children go to school. If parents are eligible, they could receive either 15 or 30 hours of childcare per week.

Government funding is allocated over 38 weeks of the year. However, our setting operates for 51 weeks annually. To accommodate this, we stretch the funded hours across the full 51 weeks.

How we apply the funding:

  • For children claiming 15 hours of funded childcare per week, this equates to 11 hours per week, over a minimum of 2 days.
  • For children claiming 30 hours per week, this equates to 22 hours per week, over a minimum of 4 days.

Children attending our funded sessions can enjoy extra activities, special events, and nutritious meals and snacks, supported by a small extras and consumables fee.

Childcare Funding

All children aged 3 – 4 years old living in England are entitled to 15 hours funding. There is no need to apply for this form of funding, it is offered irrespective of income, benefit status, or family circumstances.

If you are receiving 15hrs funding and receive additional support, you may be eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP). EYPP is paid to the setting and allows for additional support to be provided for your child to enhance their learning and development. Further information on this can be found at Get Extra Early Years Funding

Eligible working families can apply for 30 hours of childcare for children aged 9 months to 4 years. To find out if you are eligible for 30 hrs funded childcare visit Best Start in Life and follow the instructions.

The funding is applied the term after they are 9 months or their 2nd or 3rd birthday. The terms start from either the 1st January, 1st April or 1st September each year.

Tax Free Childcare

If you get Tax-Free Childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare account for your child. For example, £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay your settings invoices.

You can get Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as 15 or 30 hours of funded childcare through Funded Childcare for Working Parents if you’re eligible for both.
