About us
Turville Forest School and Nursery
We are based in the beautiful Chiltern Hills, in the picturesque village of Turville, 5 miles west of High Wycombe and 6 miles east-southeast of Watlington, 7 miles north of Henley-on-Thames and 2 miles from the Oxfordshire border. Our hidden gem of a setting has fantastic views of countryside, but also the ‘Vicar of Dibley’ church and the ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ windmill which overlooks the village.
We are a 36-place setting, caring for children aged 0-5 years, Monday to Friday 07.30-18.00 all year round. The nursery is a single-story, with its own large play area and Forest School woodland.

Where Children Grow, Thrive and Belong
We pride ourselves of being friendly, passionate and enthusiastic childcare professionals, who provide a stimulating and nurturing environment that is necessary for all children’s optimal growth and wellbeing. We know the early years are the most important in giving children the best start in life. Therefore we base our learning programmes around each individual child and put them at the heart of all the activities and opportunities we provide.
We encourage an open and friendly extended-family atmosphere by providing group meal times and designated activities and events together. We also encourage good manners and a sense of traditional values. We know our children well and put them at the centre of everything we do. This approach is also supported by our forest school sessions where we offers unique first hand learning experiences to our children.
Forest School
Our forest school sessions are led by a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader. All our children spend extended periods of time outdoors in all weathers.
“We believe that there is no such thing as bad weather.”
“Forest School allows the relationships to build in a collaborative way, where learning is occurring on both sides in a real-life situation in a truly amazing way. The child is the teacher and learner, the practitioner is the observer and facilitator, and the environment is a cohesive whole that offers the fabric of the learning and teaching to all involved.”
Windmill Meadow is bursting with mini beasts and wildlife both big and small. Located on-site through a secure gate, a thicket and a grassy clearing is available for our use all year round. Children visit regularly and take part in a range of age-dependant activities designed to inspire child-led exploration and promote supervised risk-taking – such as climbing the rope ladder, we made together!
Not only do we have access to our own little woodland, but also the surrounding Chiltern Hills which we love to explore with our children.
